PALISANDER RECORDER ENSEMBLE

Recorder Revolution!

The recorder has a rich history brought to life by Palisander in Recorder Revolution! With an amazing array of recorders from 6 inches to 6 feet tall, the ensemble presents music spanning 900 years. It includes traditional music from the British Isles, songs by kings, sparkling baroque concertos, surprising contemporary techniques and music commissioned by the quartet.

Come and discover everything you didn’t know you loved about the recorder!

Presenting imaginative, historical programmes with a wide range of repertoire, this vibrant young ensemble, since graduating from the Guildhall, has quickly established itself as foremost musical ambassadors, having in quick succession been selected for the prestigious St John's Smith Square Young Artists’ Scheme 2016-2017 and the Brighton Early Music Festival’s ‘Early Music Live!’ scheme, chosen as Making Music UK Selected Artists 2018-2019 and won the June Emerson Launchpad Prize for chamber groups. Their varied performance schedule includes from the Tel Aviv, Amsterdam and Greenwich International Early Music Festivals to the Handel Hendrix Museum and London Fashion Week.

Palisander’s debut album, Beware the Spider! was released in February and received a 4 star review from BBC Music Magazine. Classic FM recently featured a live performance film of one of the pieces on the album, which has received over 4 million views so far!

They enjoy giving regular family concerts and workshops including for the Live Music Now! Scheme and as featured artists in the Wigmore Hall’s Chamber Tots series.

An evening for all the family!

“Palisander’s imaginative performances really stand out from the crowd; their carefully thoughtthrough seamless entertaining programmes, delivered with great panache result in tremendous enthusiasm and cheers from the crowd”                                                                             Brighton Early Music Festival
