(Honorary Artistic Patrons)
The last Season was another highlight in recent years with audiences up again by almost 10% over estimate. This is most encouraging and, with your help, we can build on this success.
As music lovers you will be aware that over the last 35 years Shropshire Music Trust has been the most significant provider of professional classical music in Shropshire through our annual season of varied, highly-rated concerts and invaluable outreach work. You may not be aware that the revenue from ticket sales (around 50% of our income) can never be adequate to cover the full cost of presenting these wonderful artists, and a substantial element needs to be covered by grant bodies, local business sponsorship, and our individual supporters. Individual giving is now the single most vital aspect of fund-raising for professional arts organizations such as ours.
Your support is vital in helping us achieve our charitable mission to share great music with as many people as possible: We have already achieved £15,000 pa.
Set up in 2012 the Patrons, now incorporated with the Friends as the Supporters Scheme, has grown significantly over the seven years; we are immensely grateful to them all. The income has helped to offset, though not balance, reductions in grant and other income which are anticipated to continue for the foreseeable future, and as a consequence we are keen for more of those interested in our work to become Supporters (download donation form here).
Please join us! – Help us achieve our £20,000 target needed this season.
If you are a supporter already and might like to increase your donation level – please complete and return the donation form advising us of your higher donation, or contact us to discuss how best you might do this.
To allow us to continue into our fourth decade, our individual contributors are becoming ever more important to keep great music coming here to Shropshire. You will enjoy a range of benefits, as well as providing invaluable support for classical music to thrive in Shropshire into the Trust’s 4th decade:
- early details of all events
- priority for your bookings
- the SMT Supporters’ e-Newsletter
- occasional ticket offers
- invitations to special events and open rehearsals
- your name in concert programmes and on our website (optional)
- opportunities to meet the artists (numbers may be restricted to upper patrons levels)
- and a chance to help in running the Season (for those that so wish)
It is great to know so many people share our belief in the power of music to enrich our lives and the lives of those around us.
With kind regards,
Giving by Direct Debit significantly reduces administration costs. Gift Aid makes your donation worth 25% more.
