For music lovers of all kinds and ages to enjoy, The Music Room is an exciting twelve-episode digital project, created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was especially curated in 2020 by Zoë Beyers, one of the UK’s most versatile violinists and leader of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Zoë is also guest leader with the Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras, the CBSO, the Philharmonia, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Orquesta Nacional de España at the invitation of Maestro Juanjo Mena. Hailed by Gramophone Magazine as “a symphonic conductor of stature”, Kenneth Woods has quickly built up an impressive and acclaimed body of work with the orchestra and was also recently appointed Artistic Director of both the Colorado MahlerFest – the only US organisation other than the New York Philharmonic to receive the International Gustav Mahler Society’s Gold Medal – and the Elgar Festival in Worcester.

William Conway

William Conway is an internationally renowned conductor and cellist, whose performances have been described as ‘astonishingly convincing’ (Opera magazine), ‘a tour de force’ (Guardian), with ‘a flair for the unpredictable’ (Financial Times). On the podium, he is known for his conviction, clarity and intelligent musicianship, while his collaborations with Hebrides Ensemble, of whom he is the Artistic Director and founding member, have been praised for their fresh and inspirational approach to programming.
