Catalan cellist François Ragot returns to Shropshire with guitarist Nathalie Mengual to present a series of concerts in Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and Bridgnorth of classical music from Latin America and Spain.
The music blends the sensibility and warmth of the cello with the sharpness and energy of the guitar. Two recent recordings, ‘Arpeggiata’ and ‘Piccola Romanza’, encapsulate the unique interpretation of this partnership.
François Ragot, cellist, is currently music director of Mare Nostrium Musicae in Catalonia, for which he has organised over 30 concerts. He also appears regularly with l’Orchestre de Montpellier and at international concerts abroad. He teaches at the music schools of St Cyprien and of Céret.
Nathalie Mengual, guitarist and arranger, currently teaches classical guitar in St Cyprien and at the music school in Albères.
